I know we are all guilty of this – putting off dusting – am I right? No one enjoys looking at dust around their home, but to move everything just to put it all right back immediately is cringe worthy! I have a solution for you! I will show you how to get rid of those pesky dust bunnies forever.
All it will take is some elbow grease and a willingness to create a routine.
With just a few changes in the way you think and an open mind, you can get rid of the dust and have the home of your dreams.
There is only one major hurdle to overcome
You have to dust and you have to dust every evening.
Let me explain.
When you take a trip to a relaxing spa or beautiful hotel, there is never a dustball in sight – correct?
Well, why do you think that is?
The rooms are cleaned on a regular basis!
Common sense, right?
“Gee, thanks for your help, Crystal!”
I am sorry , I do not have a magic trick that will get rid of all those pesky dustballs, but I do have some helpful tips to achieve the spa, dustfree atmosphere at home.
Let me give you a piece of advice before you begin.
Try not to think of cleaning as work, use the time to plan your day, tell yourself you ARE fabulous or brainstorm money making ideas!
The wrong frame of mind will destroy any goal you want to tackle. Nip it in the bud!

Let me break it down for you.
But remember these steps may take a bit longer the first time around depending on how much clutter you have in your home. Take your time there is no judgement.
Remove all items that belong in the bin or other rooms in your home and clean all the clutter.
Bonus: Once you complete this step – you are finished. Unless you fail to keep up the routine. So do a thorough job to accomplish the best results.
Depending on the size of your home, this step could take awhile therefore pace yourself accordingly. Not all of us are neat freaks, why would you need my help? So, give yourself some time, girl!
Remove all items on the surfaces in the room, tables, mantles, bookcases, etc…
Bonus: You will not be putting everything back! While you are removing the items think about their relevance in the space. Ask yourself these questions.
Does the item serve a purpose?
Is it something you need like a tablet or laptop? Or something that doesnt belong in the space like a glass from the kitchen in the bedroom or an empty bad of chips on the coffee table?
Does it follow the rule of three?
Designers like to place decorative pieces on mantles or bookcases in threes. The eye can concentrate on the items easier this way and the look just works. Try to have items that have different heights and a similar colour pallet.
Is it in tune with the theme of the space?
Again, there is no need of a kitchen utensil in the bedroom! Unless it belongs in the room, it will not be going back. Try to keep the pieces that have a relevant theme and colour palette. If you have a collection of books or teacups, try to keep them together and display them.
Dust and replace only the items you believe add to the space. Less is more!
Bonus: Now that you have all your accessories organized all thats left is the fun part! Release the inner designer in you and decorate your space. Tomorrow when you dust you will only need to use your duster! No need to remove everything!
Done. You are dustfree!
How does it feel? That didn’t take too long, am I right? And best of all the worst is over!
How gorgeous is your home now?
I know this may seem like common sense but sometimes all it takes is someone to break it down for you in a few easy steps. It can help you to realize that it really isn’t that difficult to accomplish and can be done in a short amount of time.
Once you keep this up, you will find it will inspire you to have less clutter around.
Less clutter, less to move!
You don’t have to get out the rag and bucket of water every time.
When you are short on time or enegy – use a Swiffer duster or a duster of your choice, even just a dry cloth. As long as you keep up your routine.
Wow! It’s So Clean!
Now that you have the dust in order, how about getting your daily chores in order?
